How Do I Get 61010 for UL
The first step is to contact a third-party test lab, like us here at High Tech Design Safety, LLC. Secondly, you need to have a scope of the testing and specific product requirements. If you are working with us, we help you create this scope through a conversation about your specific equipment. We will help you determine the testing you will be needing and exactly the things that your equipment needs to consider when getting UL certification for UL 61010.
From there, you will get a quote for the evaluation and testing to be completed by a third-party testing laboratory. In order to kick off the project and get it rolling, then you will send a Purchase Order. At this point with our clients, we will do a design review, which is our Conformity Discovery Process©. This will help you understand where you are and where there are design gaps that need to be closed.
At the same time, you will be developing required documentation with our support and templates. This includes your necessary drawings, BoMs (Bill of Materials), cut sheets and manuals. From there, you will arrange and perform an equipment/product evaluation (remote or on-site depending on your product requirements). If there are any additional gaps that are observed at this point, we will work with you to close those conformance gaps. Afterwards, you will receive your approval and certifications.
